Voice

Private voice lessons are tailored to the needs, interests, and goals of the individual.

Instructor and student work together to develop a healthy vocal technique, age appropriate repertoire, and an approach to singing and performance that is singularly their own.

Piano, Guitar, & Bass

Private instrument lessons are offered at the beginner and early intermediate level. Students will learn to read music, play scales and chords, and work on recital pieces.

The goal is not only to develop a solid musical foundation in piano which will greatly assist in the future pursuit of any musical instrument in any style, but most importantly to instill in the student a genuine love and appreciation for music.

Songwriting Workshop

Personal instruction or a maximum group of two.

For 15 years old to Adults

Our goal is positive expression through songwriting.

We will write and record your original song, while learning what it takes to get your creative ideas on the page and into the studio.
a. Learn song form(s)
b. Writing lyrics.  Turning your poetry or writings into lyrics that fit and personalize your song.
c. Music theory.  Learn the building blocks of music from chord structure to song form and how they effect the listener.
d. We will track and record our project on a Logic Pro X, a professional music editing program for Macs. Garage Band is the baby brother of this app and it’s free. (It is not necessary to have either music editing program for course.)
e. Exploring musical genres and what makes them that genre.

This course is part music appreciation which is also a part of your development as a songwriter.  This is a “seriously fun” practice in exploring your creative nature. Let’s write a HIT!
